RYPT Trainer Academy | Workouts

What is the Workouts feature?

The Workouts feature is where you create workout templates to share with your clients and athletes, where you manage your templates, and where you manage the workouts you have scheduled. It’s made up of three elements:

  1. List of workout templates / Where you manage your workout templates, edit/copy/send existing workouts and create new workouts.
  2. Workout builder / Where you build your workouts made up of exercises from your database and video content from your library. You define the metrics and values you’d like to prescribe and record from your clients and athletes.
  3. List of sent workouts / Where you can view the workouts you have scheduled for your clients and athletes, who you have sent them to, and for what date. You can monitor your client’s and athlete’s compliance, view workout data for workouts that have been completed, or cancel/edit workouts that have not yet been completed.

We’ve created some short videos to help you quickly master the workouts feature. Check them out via the following links:

RYPT’s bespoke workout builder has been developed to save you as much time as possible programming, so that you can spend more time coaching. It also helps you deliver greater variety and personalisation to your clients and athletes and allows you to monitor their progress across key metrics.

Copy/edit workout templates to quickly develop progressive overloads and a variety of personalised workouts

It’s our goal to help you save as much time as possible while still developing a variety of personalized workouts for your clients and athletes. One of the many features that will help you do so is the copy/edit feature in our workouts list. This allows you to copy one of your pre-built workout templates and quickly edit it to create a variation or to personalize it for particular clients and athletes, so much quicker than if you built a new workout from scratch. A common example of where this is useful is if you have a standard warm-up that you use regularly – this warm-up can be created as a template and copied to create new workouts which already contain your warm-up, rather than building it each time you build a new workout.

Deliver simple or advanced workouts and only track the data that’s important to you

We wanted to give you the flexibility to build very detailed workouts and track your client’s and athlete’s progress over time, or simple workout summaries tracking only compliance, depending on the audience you’re working with (i.e. high-performance athlete vs average gym-goer), and the type of workout you want to build (i.e. Strength and Power Workout vs Recovery Stretching Workout).

To facilitate this, RYPT’s workout builder allows you to add up to 3 metrics per exercise, along with rest and tempo. While giving you the ability to decide for each section whether you want your clients and athletes to record data for those exercises or not. So no wasting your client’s and athlete’s time recording data for their warm-up exercises when you’re only interested in their key lifts.

Automatically personalize your workouts with smart metrics

We want to help you provide a level of personalisation to your clients and athletes that’s not feasible with traditional methods. To do so, we have provided some smart metrics for you to use when building your workouts, like ‘% Max’, which uses an individuals current 1RM to calculate a load that is personalised to their fitness level, and provides them with a kg value in the RYPT app so that they don’t have to do any calculations in the gym.

Support your remote athletes / clients as if they were 1-to-1

It’s our goal to bridge the gap between remote and in-person coaching by providing coaches with better tools to support their users. You saw how you can add exercise technique videos to your exercises here, but another tool you can use to support your clients and athletes is the Tips feature which allows you to add a coaching cue to each exercise to give your clients and athletes a specific queue or additional information relating to the exercise. Tips can be configured to send each time is sent or personalised to a specific workout.

Track your sent workouts, monitor compliance, and view workout data

We want to make it easy for you to quickly be able to see what you have sent, to which clients and athletes, who has completed the prescribed workouts, and what progress they are making. So in addition to seeing this data on a per-user basis as you saw here, you can also get a complete overview of this data for all of your clients and athletes through the Sent Workouts feature. Here you can see everything you have sent for a given time period, go a level deeper to see who you have sent it to and whether they have completed it or not, and go deeper again to see workout data for the clients and athletes who have completed the workout.

Quickly change schedules when circumstances change

Things change… injuries happen, schedules change, so RYPT gives you the flexibility to allow for these circumstances, and make any necessary changes as efficiently as possible. To do so, we have delivered a number of features through the Sent Workouts feature to allow you to cancel workouts, add clients and athletes to a scheduled workout, change a workout due date, or edit a scheduled workout.
