A central hub to manage injury risk and enhance our athletic development programme

The problem
We were using Excel to do our programming and we were fed up with how much time it was taking and how little of the player’s gym work we could monitor as a result. We were looking for a solution that could help us be more efficient with our planning and programme delivery across all our age groups and help us track the effectiveness of our athletic development programme. We were also using another athlete monitoring system for our well-being and training load monitoring so we were concerned about introducing another platform and app for the players.
The solution
RYPT was able to provide a single solution for our programming and athlete monitoring and has brought another level of sophistication and efficiency to the planning and execution of our athletic performance programme across all age groups.
One of the key features of RYPT is the fact that our entire backroom team can use it as a central hub to gather and collect data from several different sources such as well-being and readiness data, hamstring strength, training load (sRPE), GPS, and force plate data. This provides us with instant feedback on each player’s individual injury risk and helps us manage injury risk. It allows us to easily report on this and the players’ progress to management so that we’re all on the same page.
What we love
Having everything within one app has really appealed to the players and showing them their progress over the course of a programme has really helped drive intent in every session and given the players ownership of their own development.
During last season, I felt that RYPT was absolutely critical to our success in winning the All-Ireland Championship in 2022 and how we were able to address individual and team needs throughout the season. Giving us the ability to acutely monitor sleep and recovery to make the correct decisions around recovery and performance to manage injury risk throughout the National Football League and Championship season. I believe we have barely begun to see the possibilities and what we can do with RYPT. In the future, we are looking forward to how we can work together to further enhance injury prevention and enhance performance.
